3rd Annual Fraser Valley Thunder Rally For Cancer
Mark your calender—it's time to ride for cancer again!
Get on your Hogs, Hot Rods and Wheels and head on down the highway for the 3rd annual Fraser Valley Thunder Rally 2010 Rally for the Cure July 24 to support the Canadian Cancer Society. Join the large convoy taking off at 10 am from the starting point at the Canadian Cancer Society headquarters in Vancouver. Cruise along the 100 km Fraser Valley Thunder Rally route before reaching the final destination in Chilliwack, then kick back and enjoy as the party begins at the Vedder River Campgrounds.
Fun for the whole Family!
The Rally is an opportunity for individuals of all ages to come together and support the Canadian Cancer Society in their fight against this disease that affects so many.
This year, the rally will begin July 24th in Vancouver and end at the Vedder River Campground in Chilliwack. Join us for continuous live music featuring Rhythm Street, Full Moon (formerly Doug and the Slugs *5 time Juno award winners*) as well as other local bands, a tasty BBQ, a silent auction, children's activities including So You Want to Be a Rock Star, and overnight camping.
Start:
The Canadian Cancer Society Head Office at 1st Avenue and Boundary Street. Meet behind their building one block north on Graveley Street.
When:
Saturday, July 24, 2010. Registration starts at 9:00 am. Ride leaves at 10:00 am.
Route:
1) Boundary Road north to Hastings St.
2) Right on Hastings St. to Barnet Hwy, which turns into.
3) Lougheed Highway to Mission
4) Right on Hwy 11 to Abbotsford toward Sumas border crossing.
5) Turn on Vye Road through Vedder to Giesbrecht Road.
End:
Vedder River Campground on Giesbrecht Road.
The Vedder River Campground is on the Vedder River just before Cultus Lake. It is a beautiful spot with all the amenities and a swimming hole as well as hot showers, washroom, etc..
Cost:
Registration is $25.00 (Cash only) which includes admission into the campground.
Adults: $25 Family: $40 Full car: $50
Children under 15 free if accompanied by adult.
Activities:
Live music, BBQ, fun for the kids, raffle draws,silent auction and overnight camping.
