GVMC Weekend Rider’s Ride Series 2026. (The group can have input on the lunch destination/ overall ride length). Leave yourself enough time to cross the border.
Sept 27 Sunday Annual Oyster Run in Anacortes and down via Deception Pass into Coupeville for lunch. Kicks 8 AM.
RIDE PLAN: Running a nice twisty section down east and heading west into Anacortes. Walk around the town and then hitch up the steel horses down the coast via Deception Pass into Coupeville for lunch at Toby’s Tavern or The Front St. Grill.
When: Sept 27 Sunday kicks 8 AM.
Start : Chevron/ Marathon in Blaine, USA - near the truck crossing 1350 H St, Blaine, WA, 98230-8128 Marathon
The route: The route is a good mix. This is a lot of area to cover, so maximum one hour in Anacortes to view the bikes and exhibits.
Kms: 404 kms
Time: 8-9 hours
Lunch: Toby’s Bar and Grill or The Front St. Grill.
Video: 360 X4 and standard 4K
Captain: I am willing to be the Road Captain for the ride.
Fuel: We will fuel when needed.

Event Comments: Weekend Rider’s Series 2026 Sept 27 was a run to the Annual Oyster Festival in Anacortes, WA.
Gordon Esplin joined me on a 450-530 km run. We had cool temps and fogging visors down to Whatcom Lake. S Hill Rd was a standout down to Whatcom. Stopped for a coffee meeting some other riders going to Anacortes. In Anacortes rode right down Main St as planned with thousands of bikes parked on all sides. It was a Harley event! It’s a site to see. As planned, I made a left on 2nd St and we were off to Coupeville which was the destination. Glad to leave the smozzle of the Oyster. Got into Coupeville on Madrona Way which is a beautiful coastal ride into town. Found parking for motorcycles right on Front St. Gordon treated to Mexican soft tacos! Thanks Gord. Molka Xete restaurant A molcajete (pronounced mol-kah-HEH-teh) is a traditional Mexican stone mortar and pestle used for grinding spices, making salsas, and mashing guacamole. Highlight for me was seeing Ebey’s Landing on Hill Rd after lunch. Beautiful stretch of coast with a hiking trail. Ran back on Deception Pass and Deception Rd to Anacortes and stopped for a N/A Heineken in Everson at the Bourbon Bar and Grill. Hopped the border in Aldergrove to avoid the bikes coming home from the Oyster at the Truck Crossing. Sailed over. 7 am-5 on for the day. Great weather great route! Vids and pics below:
