Event Comments: 2026 GVMC Weekend Rider’s Ride Series - Othello Tunnels and Manning Park.
We rode 460-500 kms. Mark and Tom were at the GVMC Clubhouse at 7:30 We waited until 8 and we set off out to Kanaka Creek, out to Stave Lake, Whonnok, Ruskin out to Deroche. Lots of country roads. Hit #7 and aimed for Hope. Lots of wind on 7 near Hope.
Fueled at Chevron and routed to Othello Rd. to explore 4 tunnels that were built from 1914 for the railway. Definitively worth visiting. We walked the 2.3 kms in and out. When we got back the cars were lined up to park.
Took off for Manning Park. The food at Pinewoods was great! Coffee was very rich Italian blend.
We got out and headed back on #3. Got down to # I. We took Annis Rd. back to Duke’s all on inner side roads.
The highlight was walking the Othello Tunnels. A good mix of twisties and highway. Did get some NASCAR “shake n bake” on the Crowsnest! Fun day out.
